Safety Rules

Legacy Sports Paintball Safety Rules

  1. Goggles On at All Times: Your goggles must be on before you step onto the field and may not be removed until after you have stepped off. Do not lift your goggles for any reason while on the field.
This is our most important safety rule:
    • 1st violation: Warning
    • 2nd violation: Sit out for one game
    • 3rd violation: You will not be allowed to play for the rest of the day
  2. Barrel Covers: Keep your barrel cover on until you step onto the field. Once on the field, remove it and hang it at the barrel cover station. Before leaving the field, place your barrel cover back on your marker before exiting the netted area.
  3. Safe Area Protocol: In the safe area, keep your finger off the trigger, safety engaged, and barrel pointed at the ground. Never point your gun at anyone or anything in the safe area.
  4. 15-Foot Surrender Rule: If you are within 15 feet of an opposing player, you may not shoot. Instead, shout “Surrender.” The attacking player always wins; the defending player is out, must hold their gun in the air, and leave the play area via the barrel cover station.
  5. Elimination: If a paintball hits you and bounces, you may continue to play. If it breaks, you are out. Raise your gun above your head, shout “Hit,” and walk off the field toward the barrel cover station. Keep your gun raised so others know you are out and do not shoot you again.
  6. No Ground Paintballs: Do not pick up paintballs from the ground. Dirty paintballs will damage your gun and ruin your experience.
  7. No Climbing: Do not climb trees or obstacles.
  8. No Physical Contact: Physical contact with other players is not allowed.
  9. No Throwing Smoke Grenades at Players: Do not throw smoke grenades at other players.
  10. No Shooting Wildlife: Never shoot at wildlife. If you see a snake, notify a referee and indicate its location.
  11. Lightning Safety: If lightning is spotted, the game will be paused for 10 minutes. Play will resume only after a full 10 minutes have passed since the last lightning strike.
  12. Air Tank Safety: Before each game, the referee will call everyone to the air station. If your air tank gauge shows less than 2, you need a refill. It’s best to fill up before every game to avoid running out.
  13. Paint Grenades: If a paint grenade strikes the obstacle you’re behind or the building you’re in, you are out. If any paint from a grenade touches you, you are out.
